Backpacking, Hiking, Camping, Kayaking, Gear, & the Great Outdoors
An introduction to our new joint channel, Those Guys Outside. We're the McLeod brothers, Ryan and Jason, and we love to be outside doing things like hiking, backpacking, camping, kayaking and canoeing, just to name a few. Check out this intro for an overview of who we are and what we're all about and see a few snippets from some of our past adventures.
A solo three day thru hike of the Loyalsock Trail (LT) in Pennsylvania. The LT follows mountain ridges and streams through the Loyalsock Creek watershed as it travels through the woods on footpaths, old logging roads and abandoned railroad grades. It passes through parts of the Loyalsock State Forest for most of its 59.21 miles. The adventure was packed with amazing views, rain showers, and ended with an 11 mile hike out with a sprained foot.
In June 2021, Ryan backpacked Red River Gorge in Kentucky with two of his daughters. In this video, the trio use the weekend to hike a 16 mile loop from the suspension bridge trailhead. They visited Hanson's Point and explored other geological features along the way. Enjoy these amazing views of the Gorge!
Our second day in the the White Mountains of New Hampshire doesn't exactly get off to a quick start. After we finally get back on the trail, we're able to turn this wet weather into an enjoyable day of hiking and even get into the alpine zone for a bit.

This is from day one of our fall 2020 trip to the White Mountains of New Hampshire. We're in the Pemigewasset wilderness and it turns out to be a pretty tough day of hiking. Come along to see what Mother Nature has to throw at us and how we choose to deal with it. This is a day that we won't soon forget and one that may leave us seeking redemption.
